General - Are posters of adult porn film already accepted?

Years ago, I read that posters of adult porn films or posters with explicit material are not allowed.
But it seems more and more posters of adult films are not making it on this site.
I deleted some of the adult movie posters I have before due to that restriction.
I want to know if adult/porn film posters are already accepted.

No they are not. If you have found something featuring explicit material do let us know and we'll get rid of it.

Erotic is allowed but not explicit.

Personally, I thought theatrical adult movies were allowed. Especially since posters don't usually say specifically if it's for softcore or hardcore versions of a film. And some erotic films have European or Japanese posters with "explicit material" (depending what you mean by "explicit material").

In my opinion, I think Adult movies posters should be allowed as they are a part of vintage poster art. But yes i agree with Purerage that very explicit posters should not be uploaded (showing genitals, penetration, etc) . Tits r fine. 😄

We should put a limit, the film (and consequently the posters) produced after 1990 should not be accepted and should be permitted only posters (and not the cover)

Well we have to judge carefully. But yes, what munshi_maniac said is what I meant with 'erotic' = suggestive, a bit of nudity but has to be classy.

Porn, sex or anything like that on a poster is a no-go. I mean we have children here as well probably. Think of them before uploading such material.

We could also get sued...

I remember before that even if the poster is not explicit or no nudity at all, but if its imdb genre is listed as adult, then it is not accepted.

@daug.. as we discussed here already the abv mentioned poster is not very explicit. Highly explicit poster would be the one containing genitals and penetration. Anyways thats my opinion. MODS knows d best!! 😄😄

This poster should have never been approved. It's just like a porn cover.

It's now deleted. Posts redacted.

I don't agree. It was not explicit. So any naked bodies posters should be deleted?

Well these 2 were both naked with top side fully visible getting into action with each other xD Come on, we can do better than this.. It's borderline porn in my opinion.

Edit: It seems I had approved a very suggestive poster, I apologise. I deleted it now.

This is a really tricky topic, how about we discuss it among the staff and then decide? 😕 Because I had a look at the x-rated posters and some were a bit much, but the majority are ok I think. Some are classy and look artistic and others don't look that good 😖

My only concern is 1) the younger users who shouldn't be exposed to such posters (maybe have them in a different category) and 2) quality - we wouldn't want the site filling with semi-porn covers. These are not that hard to find too.

I have uploaded many vintage posters for adult movies in the past and that was approved by Jayef (I was already a mod but he knew it and accepted them as correct). They're highly collectable and have heritage value (they're sold in many auction sites). I guess the best way to put the line is no covers (though the few times a 60's-70's have covers they're also quite light), as those that have only covers are mostly for movies that were straight to vhs/dvd in the last decades. Even some posters to advertise the vhs in rent vhs shops are usually collectable and light.

By the way, most of the posters I've seen for those movies are hardly prolematic for younger publics, the most they show is tits and that's something easy to see even in a magazine shop.

The adult thing is specially for covers of actual porn. If we didn't approve covers I guess we probably didn't even would have to put that adult issue as nowadays is weird (though I guess not impossible) porn has movie posters.

Oh, and adding to my last comment, I also agree with the clue Ashirg suggests: those released in movie theatres are allowed.
